Reporting to the Cash Receipts and Escrow Manager, the Accounting Assistant in Cash Receipts and Escrow is responsible for the research, recording and reporting of cash receipts, assist in opening and liquidating escrow transactions, and administrative work in support of the group's objectives. Responsibilities
- Execute business activities with a strong discipline surrounding internal controls.
- Operate efficiently with an emphasis on internal client service.
- Ensure timely application of all cash receipts in Aderant.
- Research cash receipts to ensure proper application.
- Maintain client and office cash receipt spreadsheets.
- Prepare daily report of collections, billings and billable hours.
- Process escrow transactions.
- Process personal charge withholdings.
- Provide support to firm personnel in the overall tracking of cash received.
- Assist with worldwide year-end audit requests.
- Assist with special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, Accounting/Finance specialization strongly preferred.
- 1+ year of accounting expereince required, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.
- Working knowledge of Aderant preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- An excellent communicator who is effective at all levels, particularly with attorneys; an individual who listens carefully, articulates positions clearly, and conveys confidence.
- An individual who is well organized, establishes priorities, plans realistically.
- A team player who shares credit for accomplishments with others and keeps the Firm's best interests foremost.
- A person of unquestioned integrity whose personal behavior reflects positively upon the Firm.
- A self-confident individual who is able to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed during month end closing and peak periods.
The estimated base salary for this position is $65,000- $70,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of job-related factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, and performance.
