The Department of General Services is searching for an Accounting Assistant to join our Customer Service Division. This position is responsible for performing clerical, basic accounting, and typing duties where you will focus on reviewing, processing, approving, as well as paying original vendor repair and service invoices. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Accounting Assistant, you will be tasked with ensuring automotive invoices are accurate and in compliance with approved rates and discounts. Work includes answering vendor inquiries regarding payment through researching SAP system or other available resources; inputting information regarding repair and service invoices into respective vehicle records in the bureau's fleet computer system for accurate maintenance history of commonwealth fleet vehicles; as well as reviewing and processing work orders from the Maintenance Division. Attention to detail is essential as you will be responsible for preparing monthly billing to charge departments, agencies, and commissions for consumable items the bureau program does not cover. Additional responsibilities may include:
- Paying non-approved vendors with credit card in a timely manner
- Preparing checks for vendors
- Reviewing and analyzing completed forms, correspondence, and records
- Completing daily signoffs and monthly statement reconciliations
- Compiling excel spreadsheets
- Typing general invoices

- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
