Lindsey McCarthy with Robert Half is in search of an Accounting Specialist to join their client's team in Williamsville, New York. The successful candidate will play a critical role in various accounting projects and assist in integrating recently acquired businesses. The role demands proficiency in handling a variety of tasks, including preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with account and financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee petty cash entries and ensure their accurate recording.
• Assist in integrating and transferring data from newly purchased companies.
• Participate in various accounting projects as required.
• Prepare and enter journal entries as part of the company's accounting process.
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are up to date.
• Provide backup support for payables, as needed.
• Conduct account and financial analysis to assist in financial planning and strategy.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data entry, creating basic formulas, pivot tables, and Vlookups.
• Assist with payroll accounting activities, as needed.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
• Proven experience in an Accounting Specialist role or similar position
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Comprehensive knowledge of Account Reconciliation
• Proficient in Data Entry
• Understanding of General Ledger operations
• Experience in Journal Entries processing
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to work with large amounts of data
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Good knowledge of financial and accounting procedures
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
