Job Description:
Please note: this is an on-site role.CORE HOURS:Monday - Friday; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm; 37.5 hour work weekEXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting or banking industry.
PRIMARY PURPOSEPerforms a variety of tasks, including reconciliations, postings and general ledger functions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete reconciliation of checks issued, and checks deposited
  • Prepare daily and monthly journal entries
  • Reconciliation of various bank accounts and general ledger accounts. Follow up on reconciliation issues by collaborating with other departments and offering resolution.
  • Review, approval, and in some instances processing of accounts payable transactions, verifying proper approval and allocation
  • Assist in vendor management, reviewing new or changed vendor records for completeness and accuracy
  • Prepare monthly accruals
  • Prepare monthly Federal Back-up withholding for submission
  • Assist in providing information to internal and external auditors
  • Originate, review and release of daily wire transfers
  • Assist branches and back-office departments with inquiries
  • Other duties assigned by department management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong analytical skills and a general knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of banking software and/or ability and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written, listening.
  • Great interpersonal skills; commitment to exceptional service and client relationship development for internal and external clients.
  • A strong competency to problem solve accurately and efficiently, organize time and resources, and set priorities to accomplish multiple duties.
  • Must possess the level of product knowledge necessary to effectively promote the Bank's products and services by identifying cross selling opportunities, educating clients regarding the benefits of the Bank's products and services, and effectively promoting them.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Working conditions are those of an open office environment, which can require the ability to manage some stress such as noise level from clients, employees, and general office equipment, etc. Daily use of wrists, hands, and fingers to use computer, telephone, fax, copier, and general office equipment. Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering information.
