Basic Function:The bookkeeper is primarily responsible for completing and reviewing all paperwork which is generated by Bruceton Ag Services, Inc.Essential Skills and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for running the Sales Margin Report. This report shows the sales margin for the month, year to date, and the previous year. This enables the manager to identify and correct margins that are below expectations.
- Provide customer service when needed. This duty includes, but is not limited to, collecting money, making change, answering customer inquiries, etc.
- Enter incoming merchandise from vendors into the computer system.
- Investigate customer account histories to ensure that accounts are not past due or that customers are not over their credit limit
- Maintain and update tax exemption forms to determine status of customers
- Establish purchase order numbers for all merchandise that is delivered to Bruceton Ag.
- Ensure that credit is obtained on merchandise that the company was charged for but never received
- Ensure that the counter book is kept up to date. This duty involves printing from the computer all merchandise that was delivered to Bruceton Ag, and updating the counter book with these printouts. The counter book should correspond with what is in the computer.
- Run inventory report. This report shows the value of the merchandise on hand, and provides an accurate documentation of inventory for valuation purposes.
- Post payments that are received on accounts into the computer system.
- Send monthly reports to the appropriate individuals at home office
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and computer skills
