Accounting Clerk (Clearwater FL)
: Job Details :

Waste Connections is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join our team.in Pinellas Hauling Clearwater, FL. This role will primarily focus on Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including posting customer payments, managing collections, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer communications and be proficient in Excel. Familiarity with Trux and Waste Works programs is a significant advantage.

Monday-Friday typically work from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

POSITION SUMMARY:

*Accounts Receivable:

* Post customer payments via checks and various bank downloads.

* Accurately record transactions and reconcile accounts as needed.

*Collections:

* Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer balances.

* Contact customers by phone and email to resolve past due accounts.

* Send out past due and collection notices in a timely manner.

*Record Maintenance:

* Maintain accurate and organized AR records.

* Assist with preparing AR reports and supporting documentation as required.

*Collaboration:

* Work closely with internal teams to address customer payment inquiries or discrepancies.

* Support other accounting functions as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred.

* Experience in AR, collections, or general accounting is required.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.

* Experience with Trux and Waste Works is a plus.

* Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to handle sensitive customer interactions professionally and with discretion.
