We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join our team in Cleveland! The ideal candidate will perform a range of financial, accounting, and billing functions under the direct supervision of the CFO. (This candidate will be required to work in person). We believe success in this position requires someone with strong accounting and financial skills, can communicate professionally, is organized, manage their time effectively, and have excellent attention to detail. WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Prepare monthly and annual management and financial reports for the Executive Team.
  • Provide accounting and bookkeeping services utilizing QuickBooks Online & WinTeam while complying with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and file monthly sales tax reports with state agencies.
  • Prepare and file monthly CAT returns.
  • Review and complete monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Review Payroll deposits and filing and reconcile withholding accounts.
  • Complete the firm's billing process with the guidance from Sales Dept which includes new client billing set-up and termination of former clients.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Sales Dept various department supervisors on individual job budgets.
  • Review and Process Accounts Payable payments according to payment terms.
  • Process payroll and ensure that employee demographic and compensation related data is kept up-to-date and accurate. Process the firm's incentive compensation program.
  • Timely pay & file payroll withholding tax deposits and payroll tax returns and reconcile withholding GL accounts.
  • Timely pay child support withholdings and other garnishments and reconcile related GL accounts.
  • Review and process all employee expense reports for payment.
  • Review and reconcile monthly credit card statements.
  • Complete daily bank reconciliation within Quickbooks Online.
  • Provide support to CFO with annual bank audit.
  • Assist CFO and VP of Operations with periodic internal reporting needs.
  • Work with accounting team and other departments through full WinTeam implementation.
  • Other tasks or duties as assigned by the CFO.
Requirements:EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required, or comparable experience.
  • At least 2 years experience in accounting or related field.
  • Experience with QuickBooks online preferred.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to read and analyze financial reports.

WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in an inside office environment with average office noise levels. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is a largely sedentary role. The ability to lift files, stand, bend, stoop, and walk is required. Requires ability to use a keyboard, monitor, and phone. Requires ability to communicate verbally and electronically with others.
