Position Overview:
The Accounting Clerk assists the Finance team with accounts payable and accounts receivable duties. This role also provides administrative and clerical support to ensure that books are always current and accurate, enabling management to make effective business decisions.
Responsibilities:
+ Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approval.
+ Perform three-way matching for purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices.
+ Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
+ Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire transfers.
+ Maintain accurate vendor records and ensure compliance with company policies.
+ Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships.
+ Assist in internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation.
+ Prepare invoices and credit memos in the operating system.
+ Run customer credit cards and stay PCI compliant.
+ Enter cash receipts in the operating system.
+ Review AR aging regularly with finance team members to identify delinquent accounts.
+ Contact delinquent accounts verbally and electronically.
+ Maintain customer accounts in the operating system as well as a third-party sales tax system.
+ Respond to customer and representative requests for invoice copies.
+ Prepare manual proforma and commercial invoices as needed.
+ Assist with other projects as needed.
Requirements:
+ Bachelors degree in finance or a related field preferred; Associate Degree (or other 2-year degree) or some college courses plus 2 years of experience in accounts receivables is acceptable.
+ Experience in an office or manufacturing environment is a plus.
+ Analytical skills: ability to collect and research data, and use intuition and experience to complement data.
