The Commissions Specialist is responsible for the accurate setup, processing and calculation of wholesale semi-monthly commissions, weekly/monthly retail commissions and monthly, quarterly and annual management bonuses to ensure that Marketing Specialists (MS), Retail Sales Associates (RSA), Retail Store Managers and Sales Managers are paid correctly. Review of analytics weekly/monthly incentives for comparisons and accuracy to explain variances.

  • Compute and process Marketing Specialists' commissions. Prepare and process two commission deposits per Marketing Specialist, per month. Maintain and update spreadsheets verifying commissions paid for 1099s.
  • Maintain team commission percentages based on customer accounts that need to be applied to multiple Marketing Specialists to reflect correct commission payments.
  • Provide assistance to Marketing Specialists and answer systems questions regarding how commissions were calculated.
  • Prepare wage verification forms for Marketing Specialists.
  • Process all fees associated with Marketing Specialists. Prepare, label and fax swatch invoices to Marketing Specialists. Collect payments and/or generate commission deductions for swatch invoices. Prepare Marketing Specialist computer fees and collect payments for them.
  • Train new Senior Marketing Specialists on commission reporting, teams, deductions, swatch, and division/commission structure.
  • Collaborate with the pricing department who coordinates the regions and territories related to commission calculations.
  • Prepare and balance weekly/monthly Retail Sales Associate sales data used for commission/sales incentive calculations by the payroll department to make payment to Retail Sales Associates. Provide data to payroll on a timely basis meeting weekly deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Retail Home Store Management Incentive Bonus calculations and provide to the payroll department on a timely basis based on payroll close dates.
  • Calculate month-end Retail Home Store Management Incentive Bonus accruals. Work closely with Budget/Reporting and Transactional Accounting teams for approvals, data updates, results analysis, and journalizing. Coordinate the confirmation of position changes related to bonus calculations with Human Resources staff and notification to upper management in the field of when payment will be made along with amounts.

What Do You Need?
  • Associate Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience, required.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience
  • 2 years' general office experience, Required
  • Experience with hands-on payroll, accounting, and/or commissions
  • General Ledger experience Required
  • Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Computerized payroll, commissions, or accounting systems
  • Document management system
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
