DescriptionSCOPE:The Accounting Coordinator provides assistance in accounting functions for various programs and operations of the Authority and its Instrumentalities. The position reports to the AP Manager.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing of all responsibilities, duties and/or skills required.
  • Performing accounting functions and entries related to Accounts Payable, work with Property Managers and Regional Managers to resolve issues.
  • Lead the Touchstone Properties month and year end close functions including making specific journal entries, expense accruals, account reconciliation and account analysis; ensure each instrumentality AP aging report ties back to the instrumentality's general ledger.
  • Own balance sheet reconciliation for all accounts in area of responsibility
  • Perform accounts payable analysis and make timely approved payments.
  • Reviewing, processing and coding invoices accurately for payment.
  • Preparing and processing payment runs include checks and ACHs.
  • Assist with funders/investors required monthly and annual compliance tasks, analysis and reviews;
  • Assist with entries, interagency invoices and payments from parent company to instrumentalities and vice versa;
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation e.g. Financial, physical inventory assessment and all other government audits;
  • Work with management and other accounting staff to resolve issues;
  • Provide support and assistance to AP Manager
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated experience working with financial software applications and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft Excel;
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience in Accounting/Finance;
  • Two (2) plus years of demonstrated experience in finance/accounting including significant experience in A/P and A/R;
