Join the Nassau Candy Family in Hicksville, NY!Position: Full-time Location: This is an on-site position based in our Hicksville, NY office located on Duffy Avenue. Why Nassau Candy?   • Manage monthly/quarterly/annual general ledger activity and close processes
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Report on key financial metrics monthly in accordance with agency requirements
  • Assist with company external audits and reviews
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Assist in processing invoices for payment, cash receipts and credit card reconciliations
  • Review and supervise monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts including bank reconciliations
  • Train, develop and oversee the daily workload of the accounting team
  • Prepare and post necessary entries including payroll, adjusting and intercompany journal entries
  • Analyze/Reconcile balance sheet and key P&L accounts periodically
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and implementing business procedures and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Assist with corporate tax and regulatory filings and payments
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Effectively communicate business results and financial impacts to executive management through ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Asist with departmental projects and other responsibilities as requested
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of overall combined Public and Corporate Accounting experience with minimum 4+ years managerial experience
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP)
  • Proficient in financial reports interpretation and analysis
  • Exceptionally motivated, organized and detail oriented; a team player who can work independently as well
  • Strong skills supervising people, projects and closing timelines
  • Prior experience with an ERP conversion is highly desirable
