Here is your chance to join the Crown Food Team.Location:Dubuque, IowaPosition Overview:The Plant Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions including month end processes, preparing financial reports, reconciliations, payroll, sales commissions, and accounts payable.Duties And Responsibilities:Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Plant Accountant responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts documenting business transactionsPrepares GL Account and Bank ReconciliationPrepares financial statements and other reports to summarize the company's financial position including but not limited to; Month end reporting8th day reportingGainshare analysisSite Communication meeting informationMaintains Accounting Policy databaseIdentifies control gaps, develops and implements appropriate control procedures to resolve control deficienciesAssists in preparation for internal and external auditsDevelop financial analysis and cost accounting skillsResponsible for execution and coordination of physical inventoryPerformance Management for any direct reportsOversees payroll and AP functionsPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedQualifications:In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degreeSolid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAPProven track record of working in a team environment with a variety of departmentsExperience working with an ERP systemThree (3) years Plant Manufacturing experiencePreferred RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting or FinancePackaging industry experienceIBM i AS400 experienceCompetenciesMust have very strong PC skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel (advanced)Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energyPosition requires someone who is self-motivated, analytical problem solver and has excellent communication skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong written and verbal skillsStrong work ethic with ability to work with little supervisionAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring completionPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlThe associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focusWorking ConditionsGenerally works in an office setting but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular trafficThe associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperaturesThe noise level is frequently loudApproximately 10% overnight travelMay occasionally need to work evening or weekend hours*Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Benefits:Crown offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits including free company paid health insurance for employees as well as company matched 401(k).Interested:Take the next step in your career and apply online today at www.crowncork.com/careers.EEO/AA/Vets/Disabled
