Madden's is currently seeking a full time Accounting Manager who will prioritize consistently reliable financial reporting as well as establishing proper accounting methods and policies. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department to ensure proper accounting methods, policies and procedures including:
    • Accounts Payable:
      • Coding to taxonomy
      • Timely payments
    • Accounts Receivable:
      • Coordinate with sales ensuring accuracy of group billing
      • Timely billing and collection of all receivables including guest, group, member, employee and city ledger accounts
    • Oversee cash handling processes
      • Refine cash processes including outlet close procedures, night audit, and accounting cash and bank reconciliation procedures ensuring separation of duties
    • Run point on month end financial close process
      • Manage team accountabilities to ensure review and reconciliation of all accounts according to monthly/quarterly/annual schedule
      • Assist in preparation of financial package and distribution to BOD and internal users
    • Coordinate with IT on POS to GL mapping, POS issues and troubleshooting
    • Lead development of financial report changes and enhancements within financial SW
    • Coordinate with HR/payroll ensuring mapping to general ledger and accruals are accurate
    • Update and maintain AssetKeeper software as source for capital asset activity
    • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns
    • Track and assist sales team in reporting key metrics such as Average Daily Rate and Rooms Revenue
    • Assist in the annual financial statement financial review with auditors
    • Continually initiate system and procedure improvements reaching across the organization ensuring alignment
  • Reporting Duties:
    • Assist in reporting key metrics such as Average Daily Rate and Rooms Revenue
    • Assist the CFO in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts
    • Assist CFO in evaluation and reporting of labor costs
Requirements and skills:
  • Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manger
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Ethical Conduct
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office and accounting software; ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to direct and supervise others in accounting roles
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be flexible, dependable, and able to multi-task while managing priorities and initiatives
  • Constant guest focus through implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction
  • Maintains a pro-active can-do attitude
Education/Experience: Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination. CPA is a plus. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position directs and supervises 1-2 accounting staff Work Environment: Work is performed in multiple outlets and facilities. Physical Demands: Primarily stationary such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time. Must have the ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, both in person and by telephone, occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly.
