Job Description:
SUMMARY DESCRIPTIONThe Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, maintain all financial records in conformity with Federal and State banking laws, regulations and GAAP. The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Personnel - provide coaching, training, and mentoring.
  • Month-End Close - coordinate close ensuring deadlines are met. Perform analytical review on income and expense accounts to ensure the financial statements are properly stated.
  • Reconciliations - review monthly reconciliations ensuring outstanding items are resolved in a timely manner.
  • External Regulatory and Internal Financial Reports - prepare, review and/or analyze reports ensuring accuracy and completed and submitted timely.
  • Tax Payments & Forms/Returns -remit Federal and State tax payments and review tax form/returns
  • Audit- ensure all audit requests are complied with.
  • Cash Management - assist and backup for daily cash management.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Strong analytical and financial analysis skills, outstanding communication skills (verbal and written), exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, excellent computer skills; word processing and spreadsheet software, ability to interact within all levels of management, motivate and delegate.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and/or 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience is required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Federal and State banking laws, regulations and GAAP.
