Responsible for accounting for margin and inventory for multiple assets under the Products Pipelines business segmentThe Accounting manager will supervise and coach a team of three accounting professionalsReview and analysis of monthly close for multiple assets including month-end journal entries, revenue accruals, monthly billing, and AR collectionAssist with coordination of the bi-weekly forecasting reports by reviewing information from products movement and business development to ensure margin models are accurateReview and analysis of monthly variance reports and presentation to management of actuals to forecast variancesReview and analysis of revenue models and forecasts to ensure completeness and accuracyReview/perform quarterly income statement and balance sheet flux analysis for auditors.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ASC 606 compliance.Review and analysis of balance sheet account reconciliations in BlacklineReview and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls ensuring adequate support is providedMonitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvementReview and analysis of quarterly and annual FERC Form 6 regulatory reportingAssist with internal and external auditors' requests as neededReview and provide additional reports to Management and JV partner, as required
Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance requiredMBA/CPA preferred Experience/Specific Knowledge RequirementsMinimum of 10+ years previous accounting or finance related work experience, with at least 3+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.Advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.Must possess strong collaborative leadership skills - able to set priorities, delegate, motivate and develop the teamMust be detail-oriented, highly organized and self-motivated.Must be able to successfully perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and often with strict deadlines, while maintaining a high quality of work productMust possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with all functional groups and levels, both internal and external.Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with ability to solve complex problems through solution-oriented analysis.Must be able to work overtime during high volume periods, including but not limited to month/quarter/year-end closeHybrid work schedule (Monday - Wednesday: office, Thursday - Friday: remote); additional work schedule options available (9/80 or half day Fridays)Kinder Morgan, Inc. offers employees a comprehensive benefits package.
