Key Responsibilities/ Duties:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all financial records and reports, in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Forecast financial performance and prepare annual budgets.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing training and development opportunities.
- Oversee the month-end closing process and ensure timely completion of all financial reporting deadlines.
- Work closely with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
- Stay up-to-date on current accounting standards and regulations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Behaviors:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including GAAP and internal controls.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Oracle NetSuite).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA license
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a progressive accounting role, with at least 2 years of leadership experience.
Certifications:
- CFA,CPA, and/or CTP required.
Physical Demands: Sedentary Work - Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
