Job Description:
This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, working from the Miami, FL office (and more during Latin GRAMMY season).WHO WE'RE LOOKING FORThe Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation is seeking an experienced Accounting and Reporting Manager to join our growing team. You will create and oversee budgets, prepare presentations for the Finance Committee, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. You are an effective communicator with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.WHAT YOU'll DO
  • Analyze financial data and present timely, accurate reports, including necessary provisions to reflect the company's financial status.
  • Prepare and review journal entries and month-end accruals.
  • Review intercompany transactions.
  • Pre-approve and review weekly wire transfers.
  • Upload bi-weekly payroll journal entries provided by the Recording Academy.
  • Ensure timely monthly closings following a schedule approved by the CFO and in compliance with nonprofit accounting guidelines.
  • Prepare Budget Performance Reports by department/event, comparing actual results to budget and addressing variances.
  • Prepare schedules for the annual tax return (Form 990).
  • Provide required information to auditors for reviews and reports.
  • Respond to inquiries from managers regarding financial results and special reports.
  • Update scholarship worksheets including the Scholarships Grid and Present Value Matrix.
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements.
  • Adjust costs for unused scholarships.
  • Oversee scholarship sponsorships and restricted funds.
  • Prepare deferral adjustments for scholarships.
  • Manage and reconcile donation payments.
  • Issue and distribute 1099 Forms for Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation.
  • Assist with other projects as needed.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degrees in accounting. Master's degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software. Blackbaud (Financial Edge) a plus.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish. Portuguese a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent grammar and punctuation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in handling diverse daily tasks.

Salaries for positions required to be in specific geographic locations reflect the corresponding labor market.
