Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARYOversee the daily, weekly and monthly accounting functions for the facility.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Perform various general accounting duties including but not limited to, accounts payable, fixed assets, payroll, KPI tracking and reporting, production reporting, freight processing, major repair/preventative maintenance tracking and reporting and CHEP pallet reconciliations.
  • Participate in period close process by completing journal entries, reporting, and accrual reconciliations.
  • Research and provide documentation and information requested during both internal and external audits.
  • Participate in various inventories or fixed asset counts including inputting inventory weekly data.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with approval authorization policy and other company policies relating to accounting.
  • Prepare weekly labor costing reports for P&Ls.
  • Prepare statistical reports and journal entries each period for the following: other withholdings reconciling, sales tax reconciling, wage credit calculations, raw material entries coding utilizing JD Edwards, payroll accruals and weekly payroll entries
  • Maintain an organized and efficient filing system.
  • Produce, reconcile and distribute daily accounting reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile various balance sheet accounts
  • Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years of related accounting experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITITES (KSA's)
  • Experience with detailed research and analysis
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office that includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Ability to identify issues and solve problems independently
  • Ability to work well under time constraints and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy
  • Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions from Controller
  • Ability to build professional relationships with accounting and other cross functional teams while facilitating a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Possess strong analytical skills in reviewing data to identify trends and opportunities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
