Systel Careers - Accounting Specialist - Sugar Land, TX About the Job We are actively looking for an Accounting Specialist for immediate hire to join our Accounting Department. This individual will be responsible for various duties within the Finance Department with a focus on AP and Inventory Management to support our Sales, Manufacturing, and Operations teams. We are looking for someone who has strong Excel skills, self-driven, maintains an absolute ownership of their work, and has an ability to learn quickly on the job. The position will require interaction with multiple departments and will need to be able to inquire on many items with various people within all departments. This is a full-time position 100% onsite at our headquarters in Sugar Land, TX. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities - Monitor and maintain Account Payables from PO creation to payment
- Ensure PO Receipts are within company guidelines
- Oversee Standard Costing vs Purchase Price Variances
- Review From To Report which entails all inventory transactions throughout the company
- Monitor Inventory Receipts vs Expected Shipment dates vs MRP
- Company Credit Card Reconciliation
- Product Cost Analysis
- Attend meetings with key stakeholders and provide material updates
- Assist in Non-conforming Material Report (NCR) processing (RMA acquisition, NCR replacement expediting, negative receipt updates, weekly meetings)
- Journal entry preparation
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in accounting or business and/or 5+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting. Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment with focus on Project/Inventory management.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop effective business relationships with internal and external customers.
- Able to work independently, prioritize and handle multiple deadlines, proactive problem-solver.
