General Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Financial Services Manager, the Accounting Specialist is responsible for the financial processing of transactions for Mathews Brothers including managing invoicing and billing, maintaining customer accounts, and integrating invoices into the accounting software. Essential Job Functions
- Maintain customer accounts including applying payment
- Run financial statements at the end of the month
- Run aging reports and apply finance charges
- Scan packing slips, deposits and other financial documents
- Integrate invoices into accounting software
- Manage invoices and match to purchase orders
- Assist in preparing documents for tax filing
- Perform general accounting work, including creating and maintaining spreadsheets
- Answer incoming phones calls and direct to appropriate personnel
- Direct and greet building visitors as appropriate

- Perform other related duties as needed
Skills/Experience/Training
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting or financial experience
- Working knowledge of modern office equipment and procedures
- Demonstrated understanding of accounting
- Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines and prioritize appropriately
- Strong organizational skills

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors etc.
- Regular use of computer screen, mouse and keyboard
- Extended durations of sitting
