- Complete routine, recurring, repetitive accounting tasks using standardized procedures and checklists, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely completion.
- Accurately record and reconcile daily financial transactions in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Complete reconciliations for bank, credit card, and loan accounts, and maintain fixed asset schedules.
- Accounts Payable - Process vendor payments timely and accurately, research vendor inquiries, maintain good working relationship with clients' vendors.
- Accounts Receivable - Process client invoices, payments, and ensure timely billing and collections.
- Assist with payroll processing, including entering payroll data, reviewing timesheets, ensuring timely payments and quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and forms.
- Assist with annual 1099 returns and compile W-9 information.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations in financial reporting and payroll procedures.
- Provide excellent service to clients by answering routine questions, addressing concerns, and offering assistance with basic accounting functions.
- Manage tasks with accuracy and timeliness, seek growth opportunities, and proactively learn new skills.
- Work independently and collaboratively and foster strong team relationships.
- Proactively manage schedule to align with client tasks/frequency.
- Assist teammates with special projects as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Associate's degree in accounting or related years of experience
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and technology
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic understanding of cash and accrual basis of accounting
- Experience working with payroll systems, general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Basic proficiency in sales & use tax, and payroll compliance preferred.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in accounting technology systems and tools preferred.
- Team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Curiosity and tenacity in improving processes and developing new skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
