Job Description:
Job Summary: Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers. Job Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Process the organization's accounts payables in a timely manner
  • Prepare payments for expense vouchers and invoices
  • Handle vendor inquiries and negotiate with past-due accounts
  • Generate routine balance reports
  • Maintain files and accounting documentation
  • Performs general tasks and completes routine assignments
  • Receives assistance in the completion of more complex assignments
  • May assume responsibility for specific department-related functions
  • May cross train in other departments e.g. Accounts Receivable
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work on Government programs (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.)
  • Associates Degree in Accounting or a related Business degree is preferred and at least 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent of education and experience
  • Must be proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment as well as be self-directed
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
