Location: Clarksburg Corps - Clarksburg, WVPosition Type: Regular - Full Time - 35hrsPosition Title: Accounting SpecialistPay Range: $18.15About this opportunity: Under the direction of the Corps Officer, the Accounting Specialist applies principles of accounting to perform computerized accounting tasks for assigned Corps programs, with separate sets of books. Key responsibilities (included but not limited to):
- The Accounting Specialist will perform tasks such as: recording and maintaining accurate fiscal and financial data.
Using fundamental accounting knowledge and skills to perform accounting tasks such as: posting, checking entries, issuing checks, balancing accounts, and preparing financial reports for assigned accounts.
- Preparing and maintaining financial records in an accurate, complete, and timely manner while ensuring the integrity, security and accountability of Salvation Army financial accounts.
- The incumbent will frequently communicate and provide financial updates to the Commanding Officer of the local unit.
- The Accounting Specialist serves as liaison to Divisional Headquarters and ensures the accurate and complete submission of financial data and reports, in accordance with Divisional Headquarters standards and schedules.
What we are looking for in you:
- Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance OR a related field AND
- two (2) years of progressively responsible experience working in a general office with accounts receivable responsibilities; OR
- four years (4+) or more of equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; AND
- must have at least one (1) year of recent Sage system experience.
- Valid WV Driver's License
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work may be performed in a normal office environment within a climate-controlled structure. There is little, or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, and dirt. Employee Benefits
