Job Description:

Catalyst Acoustics Group is looking for an experienced accountant to take responsibility for essential general ledger, reporting, and sales tax administration tasks. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a growing manufacturing setting in all aspects of month end financial closing, ongoing management reporting, sales tax compliance across several manufacturing sites, insurance program compliance and renewal, and companywide annual government reporting. The ideal candidate will have solid GAAP accounting knowledge with accuracy & effectiveness in completing daily/weekly/monthly tasks, while working in a fast-paced environment meeting financial due dates. This position reports to the Catalyst Corporate Accounting Manager and is based out of the Catalyst facility in Agawam, MA. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, close and reconcile AP, review, and adjust accrued liabilities and prepaid expenses.
  • Analyze and process intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
    • Work across Brands to ensure all intercompany transactions reconcile monthly.
  • Reconciling all aspects of sales tax information prior to filings.
    • Auditing certificates, auditing outstanding transactions in Avalara v Brand reconciliations, amending returns as needed.
    • Performing sales tax research to ensure compliance with sales tax regulations.
    • Calling states as needed and on an annual basis to confirm proper tax handling in specific situations.
  • Coordinate data collection across all locations for annual insurance program renewals and annual government census reporting.
    • Gathering employee, expense, shipping information for census reporting.
    • Preparation of unclaimed property filings.
    • Assist in setting up unclaimed property procedures and work with Brands to obtain information for annual filings.
  • Assist with resolving employee issues within T&E and Corporate Card reporting.
  • As needed, timely responses to employee and finance leaders on any questions or concerns regarding Concur.
  • Ad hoc reporting, analysis, and other projects.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
  • BS in Accounting with 3-5 years' experience; will consider candidates with an Associate's with 7+ years' experience.
  • Experience with an integrated ERP accounting system, Sage or other ERPs, is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS-Office Suite and advanced user of Excel a must.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and strong analytical skills are required to be successful.
  • Must be detailed orientated, organized, able to plan effectively, prioritize, and multi-task.
  • Ability to work in Full-time capacity in a fast paced environment.
