The Accounting Supervisor reports to the Director of Financial Shared Services and manages the day-to-day payables and receivables processes, including supervising a team.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Oversees the daily operations of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions

* Primarily responsible for reviewing and posting payables and cash receipt batches

* Documents and updates policies and procedures

* Prepares, reviews and analyzes account reconciliations

* Responsible for researching old liabilities and reversing when appropriate

* Reviews and approves new vendors and changes to the vendor master file

* Reviews the weekly check and ACH runs

* Responsible for meeting month end deadlines and submitting expense accruals.

* Assists in researching purchase order issues and reviewing vendor account statements

* Manage the company's single use credit card program

* Provides supervision, training and coaching for staff

* Fosters change and continuous improvement

* Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

* Directly supervises a team of accounting clerks.

* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

* Responsibilities include; Interviewing hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Exceptional leadership abilities

* A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience with direct reports.

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Accounting or Finance; and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
