Accounting Technician

WV Public Broadcasting

Kanawha or Raleigh County

This job is primarily an accounts payable position. The ideal candidate will make payments for various types of invoices in the West Virginia OASIS system. Will accurately prepare various journal entries to be entered into the accounting system. Candidate will also assist with bank deposits and lease billings.Essential functionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

* Make payments in the WV OASIS system daily and prepare corresponding journal entries to be entered into the Beyond accounting software.

* Prepare weekly bank deposits for multiple bank accounts.

* Prepare monthly invoices for leases and underwriting contracts.

* Assist with annual audit inquiries and preparation.

Competencies

* Experience with accounting software. WV OASIS experience a plus.

* Microsoft Office experience, focusing on excel and outlook.

* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

* Knowledge of how to use basic office equipment.

Work environment

The work environment is a typical office setting.

Physical demands

Requires sitting and looking at a computer screen for prolonged periods of time.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted.

Travel required

Occasional travel is required for training and development. May be overnight.

Salary is commensurate with experience. This is a Full-Time, Exempt (40 hours/week, M-F) salaried position.

Minimum Qualifications

Required education and experience

* High School Diploma

Preferred education and experience

* Three (3) years of experience in an office setting preferred.

* Associates degree of higher in accounting or a related field preferred.

* Experience with WV OASIS highly preferred.
