Job Title: Accounting Temp Aide

This is a Temporary position limited to no more than 9-months.

Job Summary:

Provide procurement and accounting support to Anschutz BMO and Utilities, and other Facilities groups. Examples of duties performed, among other responsibilities:

Serve as the accounting aide to support all internal Facilities staff as well as for external CU customers, and responsible for educating and informing the support groups on the University and departmental commonly used fiscal policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Payable:

* Creating purchase orders, reviewing and submitting assigned shopping carts for the support groups by properly applying the Facilities Purchasing approval procedure and using the proper procurement method based on the procurement threshold and the nature of the goods and services being purchased.

* Review, confirm, and process invoices. Close out and release all encumbrances at the fiscal year-end and create new SPOs for the new FY. This includes monitoring SPO balances and sending quarterly updates to staff.

2. Accounts Receivable:

* AR billing, booking, adjusting and reconciling AR for various Facilities areas

* Collect revenue by reminding delinquent accounts and notifying customers of insufficient payments.

* Generate financial reports detailing accounts receivable status.

3. Help create cost transfer, cash transfer, correcting journal entries for all internal Facilities groups.

4. Process checks and cash deposits for the department. Collect checks from incoming mail. Coordinate with the accountants and prepare a cash deposit form and ensure all checks are accounted for, and deposit at the Bursar's office.

5. Collect and sort incoming mail and package Assist with month-end closing. Ensure mail is distributed to the appropriate accountants, groups, and personnel promptly

6. Process safety boots and glasses reimbursement for the Facilities groups. This includes tracking reimbursements to determine if employees are eligible for reimbursement based on the Department frequency protocol.

7. Assist the Accounting Manager, Team Lead and other accountants with various daily, monthly, quarterly finance, accounting, and reporting duties.

Work Location:

Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business administration, business, finance, or accounting.

Substitution: 4 years of experience in accounting or finance OR an associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in accounting or finance.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

? Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel to develop, revise, and maintain spreadsheets and databases for reporting and tracking purposes for all core activities.

? Experience with University of Colorado reporting, finance, procurement, invoicing, and billing systems.

? Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

? Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.

? Outstanding customer service skills.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The hiring rate for this position has been established at $25/ hour. The above salary rate represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.
