Position: Accounts Payable AccountantAbout the role:As the Accounts Payable Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring invoices are paid in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policies. This position will be the primary contact for our vendors, and therefore will need to have strong skills in writing professional emails. - Set up new vendors in our ERP and maintain appropriate tax forms
- Check runs for 2 companies + every week at an average volume of 75 checks/week
- ACH and wire payments to domestic and foreign vendors
- Assist with accounts payable reconciliation and other month end close duties as appropriate
- Maintain capital expenditure asset lists and construction in progress excel documents
- Maintain expense report reimbursements and credit card payments for employees
- Manage the 1099 process and distribution at year end
- Assist with external audits at year end and as needed
- Create a biweekly payables cash flow
- Work with procurement to maintain vendor relationships and payment terms
- Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges (3-way match)
- Assist with different projects as needed
What you need:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- College degree preferred, but not required
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounts payable
- Manufacturing accounts payable experience preferred, but not required
- Strong functional knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, etc..)
- Familiarity working with different currencies and exchange rates
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to implement solutions quickly
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Extremely organized, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work closely with other departments and production entities
- Capable of multi-tasking and working on several projects at one time
- Must work well under pressure with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Must be thorough with a strong sense of attention to detail and the ability to follow through
- Ability to work with a group of highly motivated individuals, as well as be individually proactive
- Desire to learn, seek new challenges and to take on additional responsibilities
- Demonstrated ability to understand and follow written and verbal communication
- Self-motivated, driven individual with collaborative communication style
- Friendly, engaging, and professional demeanor
