Summary

City Market, Onion River Co-op is seeking an Accounts Payable Analyst responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely payment of all farmers, producers, distributors and vendors of City Market and for supporting all areas of the Finance department.

Day-to-Day Duties

* Manage workflow to provide timely and accurate vendor payments.

* Review invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.

* Provide training to managers and buyers on invoice processing procedures.

* Create and implement procedures to support business growth.

* Create and maintain procedural guides for all Accounts Payable activities including invoice and payment processing, GL reconciliation, and account management.

* Prepare additional information for buyers and managers on an ad-hoc basis.

* Maintain accurate vendor data and execute 1099 reporting within established guidelines.

* Reconciles multiple GL accounts by auditing information on a monthly basis.

* Support the Controller and Director of Finance with the financial audit as needed.

* Manage data archival of AP invoices, credit card statements, remittances, etc.

* Cross train in all other functions of the accounting department.

* Function as a backup for payroll, ensuring employees are paid in timely and accurate manner.

* Adhere to policies as outlined in the City Market Employee Guide, City Market Manager Guide and Collective Bargaining Agreement.

* Be proactive regarding creative self-learning and professional development. Attend all required meetings, trainings, seminars and workshops.

* Follow all department policies and procedures in order for City Market to adhere to all State, Federal and OSHA regulations.

* Support the Co-op's Global Ends, Co-op Principles and Diversity Statement.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* 4 years of accounting, payroll, administrative or related experience.

* Ability to speak/understand English language and read/comprehend instructions, as well as product/pricing information.

Technical Skills:

* Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.

* General knowledge of accounting, Payroll software programs.

* General mathematical skills.

* Accurate keyboarding and ten key calculator skills.
