The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for ensuring invoices are entered via PayScan in a timely and accurate manner.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Accurately enter community related and other miscellaneous management company (BSL) payables via Yardi PayScan

Verify invoices have been coded correctly and approved by the appropriate department head

Confirm prior balances have been paid by reviewing vendor payment history and ensure duplicate payments are not made to vendors

Ensure early pay discounts are taken advantage of, and all vendor credits are applied appropriately

Avoid overdue payment charges by ensuring all invoices are paid in a timely manner and negotiate with vendors to eliminate such charges if incurred

Process electronic invoices (i.e., import vendor .csv files)

Act as the primary contact for vendor/associate inquiries providing superior customer service

Research and respond to inquiries from vendors and associates regarding vendor/expense account status

Manage payment discrepancy issues proactively and timely

Participate in the month end accounting close by ensuring all invoices for goods/services rendered in the month are posted to the month being closed

Convert vendors from hard copy check disbursements to electronic ACH payments

Education/Experience/Licensure:

Entry Level but 2-3 years of experience in a related role is a plus

Technical capacity (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Yardi)

Experience in property management is desirable

B.S in Accounting is desirable

Knowledge of Yardi PayScan is a plus

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, and Excel)
