The Democratic Attorneys General Association provides political and policy support to Democratic State Attorneys General in their mission to protect citizens, promote progress, and support civil rights.Job Title: Accounts Payable AssociateOrganization: Democratic Attorneys General Association, Inc.Department: Accounting & FinanceReports to: Deputy Dir. of Accounting & FinanceSalary range: $50,000-$62,000Job Summary: The Account Payable Associate is responsible for all accounts payable functions and plays a key role in organization internal controls and financial reporting.Supervisory Responsibilities: N/ADuties /Responsibilities:
- Maintain vendor database in the accounting system to ensure accuracy of information and adherence to controls and procedures.
- Manage all accounting inboxes and check daily for invoices and reimbursement requests received and shared with appropriate department for coding and approval.
- Review vendor invoices & purchase orders, and employee reimbursement requests for accuracy and completeness, and prepare a payment schedule.
- Ensure that invoices are timely and accurately recorded in the accounting system.
- Ensure that vendor invoices and employee reimbursements are processed/paid timely and accurately.
- Manage employee reimbursement platform/expensify including adding and removing employees, reviewing reimbursements, and applying payments.
- Record payroll entries in the Accounting System.
- Reconcile all corporate credit cards and ensure credit card transactions are accurately recorded in the Accounting System.
- Reconcile bank accounts for all entities as instructed by the director or deputy director of accounting & finance.
- Run daily Cash on Hand.
- Assist with the annual budget preparation.
- Assist with the external audit.
- Prepare the annual 1099 process.
- Support the transition to new systems for the accounting & finance department.
- Provide and maintain a high level of customer service to the entire organization and its vendors.
- Lead and complete projects as assigned by the director and deputy director of Accounting & Finance.Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting & finance.
- 1+ years of experience in account payable role or accounting and finance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite is a plus.
- Commitment to DAGA's mission to elect Democratic Attorneys General.Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Not-for-profit experience preferred.
- Political experience a plus.Closing:
- DAGA's office is open 9 AM - 6 PM Eastern, but extended and nontraditional work hours are required.
