Are you detail-oriented and ready to contribute to the financial success of Canisius University? Were looking for a modified full-time Accounts Payable Associate to join our Controllers Office. This 30-hour per week, hourly position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting key accounts payable and procurement functions.
In this role, youll work closely with the Associate Controller to manage daily bookkeeping, invoice processing, and payment reconciliation. Youll ensure that all financial activities comply with established policies while collaborating with various departments across the College to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable and Procurement, from requisition creation to payment reconciliation.
- Process invoices, employee reimbursements, and other financial statements.
- Issue payments, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain accurate accounts payable ledgers.
- Review and process journal vouchers, and assist with budget analysis across departments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding invoice payments, disputes, and credit issues.
- Perform monthly audits of departmental credit card statements.
- Provide support to departments for budget tracking and financial analysis.
- Ensure all activities comply with institutional policies and procedures.
What Were Looking For:
- Associates Degree in business or a related field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounts payable or bookkeeping.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of automated accounting systems (Banner experience preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with precision.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting.
- Experience in higher education financial practices.
