Job Description:
Description Fabian Oil is currently seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team in Oakland, ME. At Fabian Oil an Accounts Payable Clerk computes, classifies, and records numerical data in keeping records of financial transactions of the company by performing the following duties. Essential Functions:
  • Accurately process AP invoices and voucher open PO's.
  • Strong understanding of when to accrue or un-accrue use tax.
  • Match and apply AP invoices to bank draft notices.
  • Pull AP invoices for weekly check run review, and mail payments upon completion of check run.
  • Scan check run and AP drafts weekly to an electronic retention database.
  • Reconcile the AP ager to open invoices monthly.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Work with management and/or vendors within a timely manner to resolve invoice discrepancies.
  • Is able to work in a fast-paced environment without falling behind.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for taking reasonable care of their own health and safety at work.
RequirementsQualifications:
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Word, and Excel; and have knowledge of Accounting software. (Knowledge of Great Plains software is helpful.)
  • Proficient language and mathematical skills with ability to read and interpret written documents and spreadsheets, and numerical data and equations.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands:
  • Normally seated with freedom of movement on a regular basis, operating office machines and handling light materials and supplies in a typical office environment setting. May frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Climbing stairs is frequently required.
  • May spend extended periods operating desktop computer, requiring hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity; and communicating face-to-face, on the telephone and in writing.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Periodic physical activity requires walking, bending, standing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very quiet.
