Job Description Company located in downtown El Paso is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk. JOB PURPOSE: Under general supervision of the Supervisor - Cash Management and other professional Cash Management staff, this position will support routine and non-routine situations related to the day-to-day activities of cash management and accounts payable processes. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, processing mail and managing AP email boxes, data entry, data verification, invoice and vendor issues, and support staff with various job-related requests. EDUCATION AND/OR SPECIAL TRAINING:
- Associate degree from a recognized college or university in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
EXPERIENCE AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate a personal computer and software applications.
- Excellent typing skills and proven accuracy.
- Oracle, Microsoft, and QuickBooks experience highly desirable
- High volume transaction processing experience.
- Familiarity with all phases of payables processes, document storage techniques, vendor file maintenance techniques and practices.
- Ability to perform a variety of job tasks on a daily basis.
- Detail oriented.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with officers, managers, fellow employees, representatives of other utilities, outside consultants and the public.
- Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- ASSIST WITH:
- Invoice processing, including invoice review, electronic scanning, indexing, and addressing vendor and invoice issues.
- Set-up and modify vendors that have elected ACH payments.
- Perform other related tasks that are not included, but within the context of the duties defined.
Pay range $15/hr. to $17/hr. depending on experience Position will run for 6 months up to 1 year. ELPSO70
