Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Oversees the accounts payable process to ensure accurate and timely payments while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
  • Receives and verifies orders, creates and inputs invoices into SAP, and scans into IMS for storage to ensure invoices are properly approved prior to payment.
  • Verifies that payment information is assigned to all invoices in IMS after payments are posted in SAP.
  • Follows up with purchasing on any discrepancies (pricing, qty, etc.) or stockroom for missing packing slips.
  • Unblocks items to ensure timely payment.
  • Processes ACH payment runs, weekly cheque payment runs, ad hoc cheque payments in multiples currencies for multiple divisions.
  • Monitors tax payments are issued timely in accordance with the schedule provided by the Tax Group.
  • Reviews GRIR accounts to manage older items.
  • Administers open issues list and weekly report of open purchase orders without goods receipts to facilitate the creation of AP accrual each month end.
  • Reconciles AP subledgers to GL and manages download of all subledgers in all required formats for audit purposes and monitors subledgers for overdue items to ensure timely payments.
  • Reviews lease reconciliations and maintains tracking files for utilities by location and meter for budgeting and annual governmental reporting purposes.
  • Assists with AP-related audits.
  • Documents and updates detailed procedures/work instructions.
  • Issues payments on quarterly customer rebates.
  • Performs other duties as they might be assigned.
  • Regular and predictable, full-time, on-site attendance during scheduled hours

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 2 year experience in high volume AP role with multiple companies and currencies, manufacturing environment preferred

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

  • Strong accounting knowledge
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULE REQUIREMENT

  • On-site training for 3 months - Hybrid schedule (3 days a week) after initial 3 month training period.
