The Accounts Payable Clerk. will work in a team environment, receiving on-going support, guidance, and training. The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the financial processing of transactions for an organization. Their duties include daily bookkeeping and record keeping, financial reporting and the preparation of tax records for financial audits. Job Focus:
- Review all documentation for accuracy, correct coding, and taxation.
- Manage the A/P email inbox.
- Accurately enter vendor invoices and all documents are saved.
- Resolve purchase order discrepancies by communicating with the originator of the PO.
- Process the payment for vendors and ensure credits are received.
- Complete and process all vendor credit applications.
- Create new vendor accounts.
- Verify and ensure vendor insurance is on file and up to date.
- Verify and ensure partial and final lien waivers are received for subcontractors.
- Reconcile monthly statements.
- Prepare A/P Projections Report and select vendor invoices for payment.
- Prepare and process checks and electronic payments.
- Update the Held-Check Report.
- Perform regular audit of vendor files to ensure compliance including current COI's and W-9's.
- Complete the month end close schedule for A/P.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Perform research projects and other duties as assigned by the management.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Associate degree preferred.
- Experience: One to three years of construction business office and/or accounting experience.
- Skills: Ability to maintain accounting processes, properly record financial transactions in a computerized environment.
