We provide safe, dependable buses for our customers and professional services to meet their needs.New York Bus Sales has been in business in the Chittenango area for 40+ years and has a total of 145+ employees in its 3 locations in Chittenango, Batavia, Ravena (Albany), NY.JOB SUMMARY The primary function of the Accounts Payable Clerk is to perform a variety of accounting tasks related to the maintenance/processing of payable account records, invoices, etc.SUPERVISION General Supervision- Accounts Payable develops procedures for performance of variety of duties; or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines. Most assignments are completed independently.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, including posting of A/P batches to GL. This includes a 3-way match of purchase orders and vendor invoices and packing slips.
- Reconcile vendor statements.
- Maintain paid and unpaid files, answer vendor phone inquires, internal expense/purchase queries and analysis and reports.
- Process credit card bills.
- Communicate with vendors and contractors.
- Follow all prescribed safety methods and perform work safely.
OTHER DUTIES
- Perform other duties as assigned.
RequirementsEDUCATION / REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-year degree preferred
- 2+ years accounts payable experience.
- Experience with automated accounting systems.
- Experience in a related job and working in an office environment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Knowledge of accounts payable functionality.
- General understanding of accounting practices and principles.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning vendor and other company files.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to comprehend a variety of vendor invoices.
- Ability to orally communicate with vendors in a concise manner.
- Ability to work independently.
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and accomplish multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
