Position Overview:We are seeking a highly experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Manager with a strong background in managing large AP teams and outsourced functions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Avid and other leading AP systems. This role is responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely and accurate payments, improving processes, and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The AP Manager will play a crucial role in driving efficiency, maintaining compliance, and leading a high-performing team in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: AP Leadership & Strategy:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage accounts payable team of 12-14 team members, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the performance of an outsourced AP team, ensuring SLAs are met and compliance standards are upheld.
  • Drive continuous improvement in AP processes, ensuring high levels of accuracy, efficiency, and internal control.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure proper financial controls and compliance with company guidelines.
Systems Expertise:
  • Manage the AP function using BJ Murray, Yardi, Avid, and other key AP systems.
  • Oversee system implementations and upgrades, ensuring they meet business needs.
  • Leverage AP technology to drive automation and streamline processes.
Vendor Management:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure timely payments and resolve any payment issues.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of vendor statements and ensure proper reporting and analysis.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all accounts payable transactions.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes related to AP, including 1099, accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics for the AP department.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, tax filings, and internal controls.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Management, Finance, and Treasury teams to ensure smooth end-to-end processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and compliance reviews.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role.
  • Extensive experience with Avid, and other AP systems (required). Yardi BJM experience a plus
  • Proven track record in managing large, high-volume AP teams, including outsourced teams.
  • Strong knowledge of AP best practices, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive results.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in real estate, property management, or a related industry.
  • Experience leading AP system integrations and process improvements.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with AP automation initiatives.
