We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Corporate accounting team. As an accounts payable specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and excellent communication skills. Requirements:
  • Associates degree in accounting or finance
  • 1-3 years accounts payable and general accounting experience using accounting software
  • Proven experience working as an accounts payable specialist or in a similar role
  • Solid knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Preferred Requirements

  • Basic understanding and high proficiency of generally accepted accounting and business principles, to include understanding expense accounts and cost centers
  • 1-2 years of business experience
Responsibilities:
  • Process invoices and ensure accurate and timely payments
  • Review and verify invoices for proper approval, coding, and accuracy
  • Investigate and resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor records
  • Prepare and process journal entries related to accounts payable
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and streamline operations
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounts payable policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain relationships with affected staff at different SAI locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
