EōS Fitness is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist who has or is in pursuit of obtaining a BA or BS degree with an emphasis in accounting. The ideal candidate must have the desire to become a proficient user of systems, possess excellent interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, demanding work environment with a drive for continuous process improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accounts payable workflow by ensuring invoices are coded by account and club, routed to person responsible and approved to make timely payments to vendors.
  • Performs vendor maintenance activities, which includes adding new vendors, changes to existing vendors, and keeping current records of IRS form 1099.
  • Perform periodic uploads from the A/P workflow system to Oracle and reconciles exception report to ensure completeness of upload to the general ledger.
  • Prepare batch payments as well as ad hoc payments and reconcile batch to ensure all checks were processed.
  • Reconcile vendor statements to invoices paid or pending approval to ensure completeness.
  • Train new employees in how to use the A/P workflow system.
  • Manage upgrades of the A/P workflow system.
  • Maintain trusting relationships with suppliers, customers, and colleagues.
  • Review, code, and approve utilities and rent for timely payment by club.
  • Assist with external audit requests for A/P and Fixed Assets.
  • Review the routing of expenses to Fixed Asset Clearing for reasonableness and be inquisitive to the nature of the transaction.
  • Classify the activity in the Fixed Asset Clearing to the proper Fixed Asset account and upload to the Fixed Asset subledger.
  • Reconcile fixed asset upload exception report to ensure completeness.
  • Reconcile fixed assets subledger to general ledger monthly.
  • Provide status updates of workflow exceptions and potential issues with Accounting Manager.
  • Enforces accounting policies and procedures and adheres to EōS Fitness Core Values.
  • Requires minimal supervision to manage daily activities and able to meet published deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Accounting B.S. degree or someone in pursuit of a B.S. Accounting degree.
  • Inquisitive in nature with strong desire to learn.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to handle a large volume of transactional work.
  • Team player with colleagues inside and outside the accounting department.
  • 3+ years' experience with using Excel.

  • Must successfully pass Background Check
  • Ability to access and operate Company computer system including prepare documents, enter data into computer system, read reports from a computer database or email system.

Compensation range: $22 - $26 an hour

Location Base: Phoenix (hybrid)

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
