Overview:
BM Technologies, Inc. (BMTX or the Company) is seeking a fully remote Accounts Payable Specialist to support the Corporate Controller in executing our P2P activities, including invoice processing, payment processing, and account reconciliation. In this role, you will partner with stakeholders both within Finance and across the Company in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate possesses sound knowledge of best practices in accounts payable and 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Responsibilities:
- Timely and accurate processing and payment of vendor invoices, check requests, recurring payments, as well as employee expense reimbursements.
- Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant data and support to ensure timely and accurate recording and payment.
- Support month end accrual process by ensuring that the unprocessed invoices are appropriately accounted for
- Support the NetSuite implementation related to procure to pay process
- Ensuring that all payments are properly coded to the general ledger, properly authorized for payment in accordance with the Companys approval matrix, and properly supported with sufficient documentation.
- Verifying vendor accounts, paying vendors, and resolving purchase order, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
- Supporting Management in maintaining, updating, and utilizing the Companys accounts payable systems and workflows.
- Ensuring timely and accurate sales tax processing and payment and 1099 classification and reporting.
- Assisting in the implementation and ongoing maintenance of effective internal controls over financial reporting and other business process improvements.
- Assisting in the identification, analysis, and implementation of expense saving opportunities in the Company.
- Performing other duties as required to support the Accounting and Finance Department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field of study.
- Minimum 2 years experience as an accounts payable specialist, or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant accounts payable principles, accounting standards, and internal control over financial reporting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC reporting requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of sales and use tax rules and requirements related to vendor invoices/payments.
- Knowledge of prepaid expense management and amortization.
- Knowledge of fixed asset and depreciation procedures.
- Extensive experience in account reconciliation.
- Knowledge of and experience using accounts payable and expense reimbursement systems and workflows and the integration with other accounting systems with preference for NetSuite and SAP Concur.
- Experience with ERP system implementation/enhancements preferred.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
