Summary:

We are seeking an ambitious and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounts Payable Specialist. This entry-level position will report to the Director of Accounting & Finance and is the perfect role for someone eager to start their career in the accounting world and ready to grow with our dynamic organization. The successful candidate will focus on full-cycle accounts payable and will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of vendor bills and related accounting tasks across multiple entities and currencies.

Under Surfline's “Work from Anywhere” policy, this position may be performed on a full-time remote basis from California or a variety of locations in the US.

What You'll Do:

• Manage full cycle accounts payable, for multi-national entities from data entry to bank reconciliations.
• Vendor Bill Review & Processing: Accurately review and process vendor bills using available tools and technology, ensuring proper coding and workflow approvals.
• Statement Review & Vendor Follow-Ups: Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies or issues.
• Weekly payment run preparation and review: utilizing various reports to pay vendors within set payment terms.
• Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations; identify and resolve any discrepancies in bank transactions.
• Travel & Expense System Management: Oversee the corporate credit card program, including monitoring expenses, including follow-ups on outstanding items, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Utilization of Accounting Tools: such as Excel, Sage, NetSuite, Bill.com, Navan, and various bank providers.
• Assist with Tax Compliance: 1099's, Sales Tax, and VAT.
• Adhoc projects as required.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong MS Office knowledge and experience; advanced in Excel.
• Hands-on approach with attention to detail, organization, and reliability.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn and grow within the accounting field and our business.
• A “get it done attitude.

You May Also Have:

• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Bill.com, Navan).
• Experience or knowledge in handling multi-entity and multi-currency transactions is an advantage.
• Passion for ocean-going activities.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this position is: $50,000 - $60,000. In accordance with applicable state laws, the range provided is Surfline's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
