Job DetailsJob Location Linthicum MD Corporate - Linthicum, MD Position Type Full Time Salary Range $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 Salary/year Job Category Accounting DescriptionPosition Summary: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for a variety of duties supporting the daily functions of the accounting department. They are also responsible for providing financial analysis as needed and supporting the month-end close process. Qualifications:
- Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting and bookkeeping.
- 3 years' experience in accounts payable capacity.
- High School diploma / GED equivalent.
- Superb time management skills and detail orientation.
- Experience with accounts payable and/or accounting software.
Essential Job Functions:
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment.
- Perform invoice and general ledger data entry.
- Ensure all invoices are coded and entered to the correct cost centers.
- Enter, record and process manual checks twice weekly.
- Create monthly branch invoices.
- Assist with weekly A/P run, including obtaining management approval and printing/mailing checks.
- Record, create and manage daily and weekly wires from operating account.
- Record daily ACH payments received.
- Administer company credit cards, including reconciling accounts at month end and handling disputes.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements and general ledger entries.
- Cross-train on all accounting department functions, including posting revenue and recording loan sales.
- Daily cash reporting for management and executives.
- Develop internal procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with state and regulatory audits and gather information for tax preparation.
- Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- The Accounts Payable Specialist is expected to maintain satisfactory attendance and report to work on time every day.
