The Senior Accounts Payable Team Lead handles payment processing, invoice exception resolution, and vendor and GL account reconciliation. They prepare weekly disbursement files and collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accuracy in expenditures and standardized practices. The Team Lead also reviews and tracks financial data to aid management in decision-making.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Monitor weekly disbursement requirements by reviewing Accounts Payable Data and other internal generated information for accuracy and timeliness of payments.
  • Enters and posts invoices timely and accurately into WESTON's financial systems, in accordance with established processing schedule and internal control requirements.
  • Executes weekly EFT & check run process ensuring compliance management approved disbursements and payments procedures and policies.
  • Supports development, implementation and maintenance of internal control procedures to prevent errors and fraud in the accounts payable process.
  • Investigates, resolves and reports to the Manager exceptions to accounts payable processes and controls including but not limited to unapproved system vouchers, reconciling items, client challenges and issues.
  • Reconcile the accounts payable transactions with the general ledger balances, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues to ensure accuracy in the financial statements.
  • Maintains Proper set-up, execution and accounting for foreign currency transactions including the computing and posting of realized and unrealized gains and losses.
  • Works with Financial Accounting to resolve l Accounts Payable variances and outstanding check issues.
  • Prepares and processes accurate payments via check, ACH and wire transfer in accordance with established practices.
  • Supports the 1099 reporting process
  • Administers and processes corporate lease payments (cars, copiers)
  • Prepares and processes special payment transactions including but not limited to consolidated freight invoices, garnishments and Accounts Payable Transfers.
  • Tasks as assigned - This includes training assistance, maintaining of credit card ghost accounts, assisting with special backup requests and clarification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 5 plus years of experience in accounts payable or equivalent education in the appropriate field.
  • Expertise with Deltek Costpoint is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, including Outlook and Excel.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles/ practices and reconciliation. Government contract accounting experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work remotely and independently and interact with various teams when needed.
  • Flexible to meet changing priorities and the ability to prioritize workload to achieve accurate results on time.
  • Working in fast paced multi-faceted accounting function.

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.

Salary Range: $51,700 - $68,900 - $86,000
