The Position:

Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for all accounts payable functions; including but not limited to processing invoices, cutting checks, and reconciling vendor statements.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Handle accounts payables for a specific set of vendors for multiple entities within the Walbec Group.
  • Daily processing of invoices through our paperless workflow software.
  • Work to determine manufacturing exemptions.
  • Purchase Order 3-way match processing.
  • Pay vendors weekly via cut checks and by creating an ACH file for electronic payments.
  • Review and reconcile vendor statements to keep accounts up to date.
  • Handle all vendor payment inquiries.
  • Communicates account status with vendors and sends out tax exemption certificates for exempt purchases.
  • Set new vendors up in system.

The Candidate:

  • Associate degree in Accounting with experience in AP or 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Trustworthy, with an acute attention to detail.
  • Strong organization and communication skills and works well in a team as well as independently.
  • The ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
