Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team. This position plays a key role in the smooth and accurate operation of their financial department. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts payable function, from invoice processing and vendor relations to statement reconciliation and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently within tight deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Process the full accounts payable cycle, including data entry, invoice matching, and obtaining necessary approvals.
• Prioritize invoices to maximize cash discounts and ensure timely payments.
• Process payments through various methods, including wire transfers, ACH, and manual checks.
• Reconcile vendor statements, investigate discrepancies, and resolve any outstanding issues.
• Respond promptly and professionally to all vendor inquiries.
• Assist in month-end closing procedures.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting best practices.
• Support the year-end 1099 process.
• Contribute to other projects and initiatives as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Accounting or a related business field is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in Accounts Payable.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Location: Vancouver, WA - Hybrid flexible roleSalary: $27-30 an hour
