Primary Purpose:
Assist in the prompt and accurate payment of all expenses incurred by the district. Work under close supervision and follow established procedures to process purchase orders, check requests and invoices and maintain accounting records.

Experience:
Three year accounting-related experience at clerical level
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Accounting
1. Receive and process for timely payment all accounts payable invoices, requisitions, purchase orders, receipts, and vendor information. Verify invoices and purchase orders to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to payment.
2. Detect and resolve problems with incorrect orders, invoices, and shipments as needed.
3. Prepare and distribute paid invoices at designated times.
4. Make all business office deposits to district's local depository.
Data Entry
5. Input accounting data in computer in a timely and accurate manner.
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
6. Prepare correspondence, forms, manuals, reports, and payment authorizations following district standards and requirements.
7. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.
8. Maintain vendor files and set up new accounts and make changes as they occur.
9. File office copies of checks, requisitions, invoices, and purchase orders

10. Maintain confidentially of information.
11. Communicate current status of invoices and purchase orders to campus staff.
12. Receive incoming calls, answer questions, and direct calls to the proper party.
