DescriptionThe Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial policies and procedures. This role requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with various departments.Requirements
- Supervise and mentor accounts payable staff to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
- Review and approve invoices for payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Manage vendor relationships and supplier portal, addressing any inquiries or disputes effectively and professionally.
- Oversee the reconciliation of accounts payable transactions and meet month-end closing deadlines.
- Prepare reports on accounts payable metrics, including aging analysis and cash flow forecasts.
- Coordinate with other departments to resolve issues related to invoicing or payment discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations and internal control procedures (ex. W-9, 1099's, financial audit)
- Implement and maintain processes to improve the efficiency of the accounts payable function.
- Train new team members on policies, procedures, and systems.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
- Minimum of four years of corporate accounts payable experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Tipalti and Netsuite, experience with ERP Systems is a plus.
- Excellent facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise positively with all levels of management.
- Ability to lead, plan, and execute Accounts Payable Department's workload, ensuring that deadlines are met.
- Strong analytical mindset - the ability to analyze and interpret data to draw accurate conclusions, prioritize work, and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Must be highly organized with great attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Professionalism and discretion, along with excellent prioritization skills.
