Job Description:

**Primary Function:** The primary function of the Cash Applications Analyst is to maximize the Company's cash flow and revenue through the timely application of funds.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities May Include:**

+ Accurately apply cash receipts to customer/client accounts, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies within 24 hours of receipt.

+ Prepares journal entries to assure proper cash recognition of receipts

+ Research and respond timely and completely to inquiries related to incoming funds, broker referrals and affinity members.

+ Perform daily reconciliations of cash transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

+ Reviews daily bank correspondence and reports to assure that prompt action is taken

+ Supply documentation and explanation to Cartus personnel as needed to resolve cash applications inquiries.

+ Identify areas for efficiencies.

+ Participate in Projects as needed.

**Knowledge/Skill Requirements:**

+ Understanding of basic accounting concepts; Identify and trace accounting behind transactions.

+ Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet daily deadlines

+ Skilled in managing/balancing multiple priorities and working under pressure

+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Be able to demonstrate attention to details and good-record-keeping.

+ Must have a high urgency to meet deadlines.

+ Ability to learn quickly and apply prior knowledge to new situations.

+ Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.

+ Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Access a plus

**Education/Experience Requirements:**

+ A minimum of 2 years business related undergraduate studies or equivalent work experience in bookkeeping or accounting a plus

+ Background in banking a plus

+ Cartus internal systems such as: Project Accounting and Oracle system knowledge, a plus
