Position Overview:
This position is responsible for the application of incoming cash for domestic and international deposit accounts based on a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties, according to established guidelines.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enters and posts all payments received via cash, lockbox, and wire transfers for domestic and international transactions
- Applies payments as directed by client communication, provided application of instructions seem appropriate and within firm guidelines.
- When application instructions are inconsistent or missing, research payments to ensure proper credit, including contacting the BCOOR or the remitter, when necessary.
- Reconciles entry to daily deposit totals at the end of each day.
- At the start of each day, reconciles entry to total deposit for the preceding day and completes the daily deposit log;
- Prepares cash receipt documentation and scans for upload into the firm's Financial Services imaging software. Researches missing images and resolves any discrepancies regarding same.
- Maintains documentation in a neat, orderly fashion. Prepares documents for off-site storage as required.
- Assembles documentation for audit requests, as needed.
- Prepares cash receipt adjustment requests for bank transfer fee write-offs.
- Answers internal and external client inquiries on previous cash applications
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.
- Occasional overtime may be required, including working on select Firm holidays.
